I generally live by the rule that if I expect the worse, anything that can come above that will be an excellent surprise. I don't know if this can relate directly to fear, but I sense it might, since I generally just expect the worse (which does not mean I'm ok with it) and start over-thinking of ways to reduce the worst possible effects! I started playing flight simulator, watching videos of planes landing and taking off and then planes flying in terrible conditions, studied how an airplane engine works and in what ways it could fail and I can say that I'm not afraid of flying anymore! :D Loved your plane-related comment.
